Low Carb Philippines publishes low carb and keto guides for Filipino kitchens. This page explains who writes them, how we check facts, and how we keep them up to date.
Who writes our content
Coach Den, a nutritionist and low carb coach who has spent 10 years helping Filipinos manage weight, blood sugar, and blood pressure through food, writes most of our articles and directs the rest. Our research lead, Jasmine, checks every study and source before an article goes live. Fai, a medical student, researches and writes on clinical topics such as insulin resistance, PCOS, and diabetes under Coach Den’s guidance. Coach Den approves every article before it is published. You can meet the whole team on our About page.
How we choose topics
Most topics start as questions from real clients. For example, a client asks whether cold rice raises blood sugar less, or what to order at a carinderia. We write the answer once, properly, so the next person can find it. We focus on Filipino food, local prices, and what you can actually buy at the palengke or the grocery.
How we research
- We rely first on systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and randomized trials published in peer-reviewed journals.
- For Filipino foods and health data, we use local sources such as the DOST Food and Nutrition Research Institute and the Department of Health.
- We name the authors, journal, and year of each study we use, so you can look it up yourself. Each article also links to its single strongest source.
- When the evidence is mixed or weak, we say so.
Client stories
The case studies in our articles come from people Coach Den has coached. We share them only with permission. We change or remove names and identifying details, and we report numbers (weight, lab results) as the client recorded them. One person’s results are never a guarantee for anyone else; our medical disclaimer explains more.
Updates and corrections
Each article shows the date it was last updated. We review our articles at least once a year, and sooner when new research changes the advice. When we find a mistake, we fix it and update the date. If you find one first, email info@lowcarb.ph with the article link and the source, and we will reply within a few business days.
Advertising and our store
Low Carb Philippines earns money from our online store and from ads served by Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose our topics or review our articles. Articles may link to products in our store when they fit the topic. However, a product link never replaces the evidence, and we will tell you when a cheaper palengke option works just as well.
